Interior Décor

It is common for all fashion trends to come and go, but there will always be certain elements that never fade and go out of style. If you’ve been thinking of redecorating your home lately, consider giving your home a timeless look, something that will stand the test of time but continue to radiate elegance, beauty and serenity in the years to come.

A timeless décor can serve as a perfect background for displaying all the eclectic pieces that you love and here is how you can achieve that in grand style.

Go neutral with colour

It can look truly amazing to play with wall colour or fancy wallpaper, but you can’t really tell how long those patterns and shades will stay pleasing to the eye. Neutral colours never go out of style and remain as constant communicators of freshness and cleanliness. For a timeless and elegant look, stick to neutrals and solids and achieve beauty and balance with flashy accessories.

One trap that many eager homeowners fall into is buying fundamental furniture pieces in a trendy colour of the year. Rather go with colours and patterns that will survive passing trends and add layers with decorative pieces such as lamps, art, throws, pillows, bedding, rugs and tableware.

Be detailed, but don’t overcrowd

As the saying goes – the devil is in the detail –give some extra consideration to choosing those details carefully. Pay attention to lighting and elements that can bounce off light, such as gilded mirrors. They are very classic in style and help balance the natural light.

Use scented candles to uplift the space and create an atmosphere of warmth and harmony. Besides colour, fragrances are also very therapeutic and picking different scents such as lavender, passionfruit, jasmine, lemongrass or vanilla, can help in soothing the nerves and improving mood. Moreover, if you arrange them tastefully in elegant glass containers on a beautiful vintage tray, you’ll have a gorgeous decorative piece to go with the style of your home.

Your only concern should be not to overdo it. Timeless look is all about balance, so less is actually more. Be selective in your choice of decorations, colours and furniture and let the overall look show off each piece.

Mix the old with the new

Timeless décor typically blends old with new and it’s one of the best ways to create interest and add beauty to your space. By mixing pieces from different eras and painting them into a fresh, modern shade, or upholstering a classic piece of furniture into a fabric of intricate pattern, you can create a unique blend and give your own stamp to the design.

Carefully balanced with the contemporary, old, vintage pieces such as armchairs, mirrors, chandeliers and side tables can give any room a lot of charm and appeal.

Illumination is essential

Lighting is an extremely important element of any home and a great ally in designing. It doesn’t only light up the space, but it has the capacity to make a room seem bigger, brighter and more inviting. You can use it cleverly to your advantage and highlight your favourite furniture pieces or artwork. By using light to showcase your minimalist design, you move the focus form the light fixture itself and make a statement of the whole space.

Tone down your furniture

Try to stay away from big, chunky furniture pieces and rather go with toned down, petite elements, as they can have a much more powerful effect in big rooms. Also, pay attention to the practical aspect as well as aesthetical. Smaller and moveable items of furniture won’t give the room a heavy, old-fashioned vibe and will allow you to be more flexible when it comes to the layout. So when you get weary of one set up, you can easily rearrange the furniture and have a fresh new look without spending a dime.

Display your favourite photos

Family photos always give the space a note of warmth and love, but be careful not to go too eclectic by mixing too many textures, colours and shapes of frames. A classic, timeless look is easily achieved with monochromatic or black and white scheme. Choose a wall and make it your gallery that reflects your family’s unique personality.

Finding the best design for your home that will represents your personality and taste is never an easy task. It can also be quitter challenging to find a timeless look that will make you comfortable and be aesthetically pleasing. Hopefully, by incorporating some basic features listed here, you’ll be able to style your home in a way that will stand the test of time.

While minimalism ruled our lives and our homes for quite some time now, it seems that some of us got really bored with it. So, we made some room for the new kid on the block – maximalism. Basically, a rebellious reaction against minimalism, maximalism embraces the aesthetics of redundancy and excess. However, when designing within the rules of maximalism, you can easily slip and fall into sloppiness. Therefore, you need to be careful when embracing maximalism. If you’re not sure how, here are some helpful tips.

Vibrant colors

The first staple of maximalism is vibrant colors. So, forget everything about toned-down hues and earthy nuances, and embrace vibrant, lively colors. Even though in minimalism you were also allowed to have a pop of color here and there, in maximalism, there are pops of color happening all around you.

So, the space you’ll create won’t be just colorful and bright, but it will completely eliminate that sterile vibe of a minimalist space. To avoid making the space look chaotic, try to go with colors that either complement one another in some sense, or the ones that completely contrast one another.

Natural materials

Natural materials also play a huge role in maximalism. Therefore, to create a unique look, try experimenting with mixing materials such as marble, leather, brushed metals and jute. Combining all of these (and any other you might think of) in your decor will add more interest to your design, as it will provide sensation not just for the eye but for the touch as well.

Therefore, think in terms of a coffee table with legs made of metal and the top surface made of marble, place it on a jute rug, add a nice round leather ottoman, as well as a potted cactus on the top table surface. If you are handy with yarn, you can even add a woven basket with colorful yarn and turn your hobby into an additional decor piece.

More is more

A sort of a mantra you should follow when decorating with maximalism in mind is more is always more. That’s why you should never shy away from using your overflowing bookshelves as a statement design piece in your living room or adding some more colorful throw pillows on your bed in the bedroom.

In the bathroom, you can decide to embellish your bathtub and go crazy with tile patterns or display all of your favorite mugs or plates in your kitchen. With the more is more mentality, you’ll create a space that looks a bit chaotic at first glance, but if you look closer, you’ll notice that everything is in its rightful place.

Play it smart

Now, we need to address the issue that’s most commonly left out of decor-oriented articles, and that is cleaning. While maximalism has its perks, cleaning a room decorated in this style can sometimes be a bit overwhelming.

However, this doesn’t mean that you’ll suddenly be faced with a choice to either live in dust and dirt or spend your entire life cleaning your home. No, this just means that you will have to clean a bit more often. On the other hand, to make things easier for you, you can arm yourself with various little helpers, like Roomba, to make this task easier.

Start collecting things

No, we’re not suggesting that you should become a hoarder. Instead, we’re advising you to start collecting something and turn it into your statement decor element. Since maximalism is already all about the opulence and having things on display, why not just give it your personal touch a bit more?

Your collection can consist of various vintage trinkets, ceramic figurines, nice glass bottles or even porcelain dolls, if they don’t absolutely terrify you. The important thing to remember is that you should find your thing, stick to it and put it on display so everyone can see.

As you can see, there are options for the people who find minimalism to be too sterile and boring. You just need to dig a bit deeper through the world of various styles and you’ll be sure to find something that works for you. Besides, you should be daring and not afraid to try new things out and this style is the perfect means through which you can let your true self shine.

With the rise of the Internet, working from home has become a thing quite common. The benefits of working from a home office are huge: you are basically your own boss, you are the one who decides how you arrange your office and you create your own desired working atmosphere. The downsides to this type of work are pretty much the same, only planning and arranging-related. In order to come up with a proper home office you should take this article into consideration.

Choose a Room for Your Home Office

If having a spare room, fit to suit your office needs is basically where your idea of working at home came from, well, you can move on to the next paragraph. This, however, is seldom the case – usually, people struggle with finding some space to get their work done.

Although working from the desk you generally use your computer for leisure might seem like a good idea, try to avoid this – staying at the same room for both your work and free time can have a negative psychological impact on you, which is why you’ll want to keep the two separate.

Depending on your profession, home office requirements can vary; despite this, in most cases, an unused attic or laundry room can do the trick – with a bit of rearranging and planning, you can have your home office in no-time. Keep in mind, though, that keeping it uncluttered goes without saying.

Pro tip: you don’t want to store all your work-related paraphernalia on your work desk – instead, think corner shelves, hanging shelves, or storing the items below your table, without compromising your leg room.

Home Office Tips

In order to properly organize your office at home, take these tips under consideration:

Lighting – Nothing is detrimental for your productivity more than providing proper lighting – go with weak lights and your work will turn depressive and your eyesight compromised; go with lighting to strong and your home office will turn bleak and tedious. The most natural way to provide proper light for your work (aside from large enough windows for your home office) is getting quality LED lights.

Air – There is more to air than mere temperature. Although getting a quality air conditioning system is a key factor in remaining comfortable inside your home office, make sure you’ve gotten a proper air purifier. The smells within a small room shouldn’t be too strong and should be adjustable in accordance with the season .

Chair – A great chair will go a long way in creating a productive office space. Beside the fact that an uncomfortable chair might cause you back pain further down the line, it will definitely dwindle your productivity. A quality, comfy chair is definitely an investment to go for.

Wall color – If the “office baige” is your thing, by all means, go for it. This, however, probably isn’t the case, so opt for productive colors, such as orange, red, blue, lime green, etc,

Even though you get the benefit of taking matters in your own hands in your home office, sometimes you’re better off following advice. The tips we’ve outlined will benefit your productivity and make your work time at home more enjoyable and efficient.

The year 2019 is perfect for renovations that will boost the aesthetic appeal of your home or rental property. You can incorporate the latest design trends and thus effectively raise the value of your property as well. In order to help you achieve this in no time, we have singled out our top tips and tricks for getting the best resale value out of your remodelling project.

Invest in a new exterior

First things first, rejuvenating your exterior is one of the best ways to instantly beautify your home at a great resale price. Begin by enhancing the facade with tough composite decking which is available in a variety of different styles and finishes allowing you to produce a creative look. Don’t forget, you should also construct a spacious porch which you can decorate with greenery and illuminate with smart ambient lighting. This will provide you with a valuable home expansion and a relaxed outdoor seating area. Keep in mind, homeowners who build luxurious exteriors will be able to create an amazing resale value out of this investment and attract potential buyers more easily.

A refurbished kitchen with a personality

A small to mid-range kitchen remodel is a sure-fire way of raising your return on investment rates. However, buying brand new cabinets and countertops can set you back a lot. Instead, feel free to refurbish your entire kitchen with simple DIY tricks that will add more personality to it. Start by sanding down your cupboards and getting rid of chipped paint and broken handles. Afterwards, you can apply a base layer of linseed oil to preserve the natural glow of the wood and then build in robust aluminium knobs. When it comes to choosing a perfect colour scheme, be sure to try out a mixture of mint green for the wood and brass or bronze for the handles in order to establish a timeless look. Finally, make sure to go for light marble countertops to finish the combination off with an elegant feature.

Kitchen and dining room

Replace your windows

Another important step of your 2019 remodelling project would be to replace your regular windows with energy-efficient ones that can provide you with a return on investment factor of up to 78%. The most popular ones on the market today are made from durable PVC with built-in characteristics such as low-E glass and argon gas. These are responsible for reflecting the harmful UV rays and insulating the house. What’s even better, such great insulation offers you the possibility to be less dependent on conventional heating systems and your monthly energy bills will be lower. If you like the idea, be sure to complement the look with high-end plantation shutters which can be custom-made to fit any type of window design and enhance the quality of your home’s indoor and outdoor decor.

Modern living room

Manufactured stone veneer additions

Manufactured stone veneer has an estimated ROI factor of an astonishing 97% which makes it the most lucrative renovation idea yet. The reason for this is that this material is highly durable, adds instant curb appeal and represents an exceptional cost-effective alternative to natural stone. Apart from being used for the facade, it also displays considerable versatility indoors and works well for designing stylish statement walls, archways, fire pits or even stairwells. Lastly, aside from being aesthetically pleasing, masonry veneer can fortify the exterior retaining barriers by strengthening them against erosion.

Front door replacement

Last but not least, a great and affordable way to improve the security in your home and watch it gain more value is to switch out your current front door with a steel one. This metal is highly resistant against warping, bending or cracking due to moisture or excessive heat. Such doors do not only provide homeowners with extended safety, but are great for the environment as well since steel is one of the most recycled metals on the planet. You can also design it to fit your preferences with custom features such as paint, stained glass and textured-patterns.

Front door

As you can see, enhancing the value of your home by utilizing up-to-date design trends with high ROI rates can be a real walk in the park. Simply make sure to explore all your options and remember to always go for creative decor choices. Good luck on your remodelling project!

If you’re looking for an opportunity to show off your décor skills and throw an amazing party, then the New Year’s Eve is the right time to do it. Instead of simply buying drinks and food hoping for the best, this year you should incorporate the latest decor trends and take your party planning to a whole new level. In order to help you prepare your home for the upcoming festivities in a simple and stress free manner, we have singled out our top practical tips how to decorate your home for an awesome New Year’s Eve.

Spark a flare with lighting solutions

First things first, if you aim to create a warm and inviting festive atmosphere in your home, you need to start by finding the ideal lighting solution. For example, LED string lights can help you enhance any key decorative features like the fir tree, garlands and wreaths on your walls and doors. Furthermore, if you have interesting decor outside, you can hang multi-coloured icicle bulbs for an ideal New Year’s Eve vibe. Make sure to get dimmer switches for your indoor fixtures so you can adjust the brightness in every room for a romantic mood. Keep in mind, Christmas lights are not just for the tree and walls since you can even place some underneath the tables where you serve refreshments to create an enchanting look. Finally, when you truly want the party to pop off, feel free to place laser lights inside your home for a cool light show.

Arrange the perfect colour scheme

Another important step towards planning an exciting New Year’s Eve party is to arrange the perfect colour-scheme. Before you start picking out colours, make sure to sparkle things up as much as possible with gold glitter garlands and embroidered accent wall accessories. As far as the palette is concerned, all you’ll need are green, red and pastel eggshell shades. Green features could include foliage and miniature fir trees for end tables, throw blankets for your furniture or even a chic comfy rug to keep everyone’s feet warm. Red elements that always evoke nostalgic feelings are berry branches, napkins for the dining table and stockings for the walls. Lastly, you can add a contemporary touch to the arrangement with eggshell curtains and table cloths to tie the whole look together.

Dress your tree up for the occasion

Since you’ll be celebrating the start of a new year, your Christmas ornaments simply won’t do the trick for the party. Therefore, it’s time to spice things up with some bald and dramatic alternatives. For example, instead of using your regular baubles you can hang exciting colourful balloons with heartfelt messages written on them wishing everyone a great new year. Another great idea would be to place multi-coloured noise makers and tiaras instead of your Santa Claus and reindeer pieces. In order to further signify the end of another great year you can hang clock ornaments. The cherry on the cake is going to be the tree topper, so feel free to go wild and opt for an eccentric piece like the Harry Potter sorting hat, Shrek’s head, or even King Kong.

Organise a New Year’s Eve theme party

Last but not least, you can utilize your creative skills to the fullest and organise a theme for the party. For instance, you can ask your guests to bring light-coloured clothing that they won’t mind staining with fluorescent body paint, get some glow sticks, hang a disco ball and you’ve got yourself a crazy disco rave party theme. However, if you are a fan of Star Wars, you can place a Death Star replica on the ceiling, a Rebel Alliance flag on the wall and serve drinks out of the franchise-themed cups. Alternatively, for those who are not big fans of snow and the cold weather, a Caribbean-themed party is a great solution. Simply bring in a couple of fake palms, place a bunch of barrels with rum written on them, add some treasure chests and you’re good to go.

As you can see, it doesn’t take much effort to organise a next level New Year’s Eve party. All it takes is experimenting with bald design ideas until you find the one you like the most. Good luck with your decor project!

Have you ever wondered why some people can start out with the same basic materials as another designer, yet still create rooms that are edgy and unique? The difference is the way they use the elements of design and color.

A Global Community

Society has finally come to grips with the fact that technology has made us a global society. Corporations are likely to have facilities around the world. E-Commerce is a normal part of our lives.

Why does this matter in designing our homes? Before it was logical to have distribution points internationally and associates that could easily travel, we could expect the people in our lives to be culturally similar. But, today your boss, friends, and neighbors are often from cultures that are much different than that of Western society. Therefore, in order to make our homes visitor-friendly, we should consider how elements are perceived by others.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the use of color. For example, in the United States, the use of red stirs feelings of excitement, passion, and (positive and negative) power. In some cases, it is used to show strong anger. However, in Asian cultures, red is the color used to express joy and happiness. It is believed to bring happiness and long life. It is often worn by brides to ensure a happy marriage. In the Middle-East red is used for danger and warning. Further, Latin America and Mexico use red with white as a representation of religion and faith.

The effect

Because the “meaning” of color varies from one country to another, it is the mental or emotional reaction that causes problems. For example, if a client from Mexico visits your home for a dinner party You will probably offer alcohol from your home bar. You may play lively and modern music that is meant to be entertaining. If your home bar is decorated in red and white, which represent his religion, he may feel you are insulting his faith.

Using color and structure to your advantage

Use neutral colors for your home. Eggshell, Ivory, and Vanilla are perfect for the living room. These colors make the room look bigger and give the room a warm, homey feeling. Add a splash of color with throw pillows, throws, vases, and rugs in a bright hue. Use the “times-three” rule. Use a larger item like the rug or throw to give you the effect you are looking for. The human eye immediately scans for the color elsewhere in the room. Use a striking pattern on canvas on the wall with your splash-color as a secondary color to the design.

Personal portraits are in big demand this year. The days of having your portrait painted on canvas with oils are back. Portrait paintings by Instapainting make this process painless. Send them a favorite photograph. Their professional artists will recreate the picture on canvas attached with keys to make placing the painting into a frame easy. If oil paintings are not in line with your style, opt to have watercolors for a casual but stunning portrait. You can also opt for pencil art or chalk art on heavy art-grade paper.

Your decision on the type of painting you want depends on the room. If your design is sharp, clean lines, go with oil paints. If your design is casual with lesser- defined patterns will compliment watercolors or chalk.

Use unique lighting to draw attention to the wall hangings.

Hotel-Style Bedrooms

Bedrooms that are inviting and plush are trending. Use thick comforters, pillows, of light colors. The sheets must be white and crisp. Pale blue or gray works well on walls. Deep plush rugs of faux fur are understated and chic.

Room decor should be limited. Stay away from the huge wooden bed frames, but dressers and bedside tables of cherry look great.

Final thoughts

Kitchens and bathrooms are staying with the 2018 trend of clean, bright colors. Bring outside in with window box herb gardens and hanging plants. The home of 2019 is comfortable. Even small rooms feel cozy and open. Your family, friends, and business associates will feel welcomed and relaxed. That is what your home is all about. Using bright hues sparingly and selectively will give each room a professional look. The year has already begun, so get started soon and take advantage of these amazing trends.

In this post, we addressed some of those elements to explain the interior designs that are trending in 2019.

Fall is the time for cozy clothes, soft accessories, and of course, lots of pumpkins in many forms and sizes. Even though fall is usually not considered a very cheerful season, you can liven it up with seasonal decorations, lots of tasty food, and good company – all of which can make a perfect Thanksgiving. So, if you’re preparing for this holiday, here are some home decorations that might inspire you and help you make your home more welcoming, comfortable, and stylish.

Door wreath

A beautiful door wreath is one of those décor pieces that never go out of style. Plus, since it hangs at the entrance to your home, it gives you a great opportunity to leave a good impression. This is why you should pick a door wreath that both matches the season and the message you want to send. So, you can opt for a simple wreath with brightly colored leaves and pumpkins incorporated in it, or you can choose something a bit more complex. For instance, there are many gorgeous wreaths with ribbons, sunflowers, red berries, and wooden welcome signs. Whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong with a stylish door wreath.

Doormat

Just like door wreaths, doormats are also an essential part of your entrance décor. They are simple, they are practical, and with so many different choices on the market, you are bound to find one that would fit your home. If you want to emphasize the beauty of fall, choose a durable doormat with brightly colored seasonal motives. After all, there aren’t many better ways to welcome your Thanksgiving guests than with a gorgeous welcome mat that might even become a great conversation starter.

Scented candles

There’s nothing like a pumpkin-infused scented candle to set the perfect atmosphere for Thanksgiving. After all, it’s not just about what you can see – you should engage all your senses if you want to truly emphasize the seasonal spirit. Scented candles are perfect for creating a cozy atmosphere, they can last for a while, and you can never have too many of them. As your candles’ scent fills out the room, the Thanksgiving dinner might become the second best-smelling thing that evening.

Artificial foliage table arrangement

If you want to emphasize not just the scent of the candles but their calming appearance as well, consider making your scented candles a part of a beautiful artificial foliage table arrangement. This décor piece is very versatile, which means that you can place it pretty much anywhere. So, you can use it as your dinner table centerpiece, an accent on the coffee table, or you can even turn it into a gift for your guests. Either way, it’s bound to draw attention.

Throws and pillows

Nothing says fall better than soft throws and pillows. Plus, besides being practical, they can also add to the sense of style of your home. They provide you with a great opportunity to spice up your interior with some patterns and textures. Or, you can take the party outside for a change of pace and warm up the atmosphere with faux-fur or wool throws. Moreover, since the colder weather is not going away any time soon, soft blankets and pillows are perfect for both fall and winter – and perhaps the first part of spring as well. In other words, cherish your comfy accessories, as they will surely come in handy more than once.

Dressing up your home for Thanksgiving – and the whole colorful season – does not have to be difficult. Even smaller details like scented candles and a few pillows can make a big difference. Therefore, think about the things you look forward to when it comes to fall, add decorations that would emphasize those things, and your home will be ready for the best Thanksgiving celebration ever.

The most wonderful time of the year is finally here! Fall has finally arrived and brought us those beautiful colors of changing leaves, misty mornings and cloudy skies some of us have been waiting for since, well, last fall. Of course, this is the perfect time for some light seasonal decorating as well. While the majority of people restrict their decorating efforts to only the most occupied areas of their homes, such as the front door, hallway, the living room and the kitchen, there really is no need to stop there if fall is your favorite season as well.
Instead, you can also welcome some of that cozy and relaxing atmosphere in your bedroom. Create a perfect sanctuary that will lull you to sleep in time. Here are a few useful tips.

Embrace the colors

Source

The fall palette is one of the best things about fall. Warm muted hues, such as rusty orange, oatmeal, chestnut and mustard yellow can instantly evoke a feeling of coziness and elevate your room decor to new heights. By implementing these colors in your room design, you’ll create a perfect layered look, reminiscent of the fallen leaves covering the ground outside.

Play with materials

Source

When it comes to the materials, the rules of the game are pretty simple: if it’s plush, warm, soft or cozy, and if the colors fit in with the theme – go for it!
Think in terms of seasonal throw blankets, either in solid colors or with an interesting pattern such as chequered, stripy or zigzag. When it comes to the material, cotton, wool or fleece are the top choices.
Next, embellish your bed with plush throw pillows, but make sure they fit in with the throw blankets, to avoid creating a too chaotic look. What we’re trying to say is that you should combine solid colored pillows with patterned blankets or vice versa. For additional oomph, consider adding a flip sequin pillow that changes the color from chestnut or maroon to pumpkin orange or mustard yellow.
For an area rug, choose something warm and fluffy that will remind you of the leaf covered ground. You can even make your own little area rug out of some colorful yarn or rags.

Seasonal wreaths are not just for winter

Source

Next, make a seasonal fall wreath by using a sturdy wire for the base, weave some branches around it and decorate it with dry leaves, berries, small pumpkins and various colorful bows and ribbons. If you’re a Halloween fan, you can even add a creepy element to your decor, such as a plastic bat, a spider or even small Jack-o’-lanterns. Additionally, you can make wreaths of various sizes and arrange them together to form a beautiful art piece. The possibilities here are nearly endless.

Rethink the storage

Source

Since you’ll add new elements to your bedroom, such as the blankets and throw pillows, you’ll need a place to store them when they are not being used. So, instead of just stuffing them in your wardrobe, make them work as indirect decor. Get your hands on a bit woven basket and place your throws there once you remove them from your bed. This will work as an additional decor piece and you will always have your favorite blankets at arm’s reach.

Pumpkin up the space

Source

Most of us, when we think of fall, we think of pumpkins. Not only can they be used to make some of the world’s most delicious treats and meals, but their perfect imperfection makes them an excellent statement piece in any fall-inspired decor. So, get your hands on a few real pumpkins of various sizes or test your crafty skills once more and make some pumpkin-inspired decor pieces out of yarn, old rags, old newspaper, rope or clay.

As you can see, there really is no reason not to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year throughout your home. Sure, chances are that not all your visitors will see your awesome bedroom decor – unless you take them on tour – but it will make all those nights spent with a book in your hands that more special and cozy.

Now that the summer is officially over, it is time to prepare your home for the holiday season. Personally, it is my favorite time of the year since it is filled with joy and love. During autumn, give your home the new look which will reflect the tones of the season. A golden color, a few decorating ornaments and a lot of carved pumpkins are what defines the holiday season. Here are several tips to help you decorate your home for the fall season.

Start with the display items

Fall is the golden season, which is why you should consider displaying items in similar tones. By simply adding a few items in that tone, the mood of the entire household can change. Go for something that is not too obvious yet does the job. We are talking about oil paintings, lots of brown and red colors, as well as gold and dark green. Decorate your doors or porch, and work your way towards the living room. You will realize how it slowly changes the entire setting of your home, slowing things down and preparing you for the cold winter. Sometimes, display ornaments are all you need.

If you have a long yard, there will be a lot of golden leaves flying around. As you should clean your home, ensure that your yard is also neat and taken care of. Be creative – use the leaves and create decorations you can attach to your porch or the front doors. You can also decorate trees and windows, and add a bit of that seasonal magic to your home. Clean up the entire yard and collect as many golden leaves as you can, but use only the ones you need for decorations. Buy and place a few lanterns here and there for that romantic touch. Enjoy long conversations with your loved ones as the sun sets on the horizon.

Decorate your fireplace

This is definitely something you have to do. Use dried leaves and pine cones to decorate your interior. Additional décor, such as pumpkins and gourds are a big plus. Place the décor on the fireplace, make it radiate with golden colors. Lighten up the entire home and raise your spirits up high. Soon, the fireplace will serve its full purpose, since the winter is just around the corner.

Use decorative lights

The Christmas hype starts sooner than you would expect. Visit your local store and purchase decorating lights, and let your house sparkle. For starters, you could get those in golden and yellow hues, to resemble the true spirit of fall. They are a good replacement for lanterns and candles, and can do the job just the same. As for the interior, set your imagination free and do as your heart desires. Whether you decorate the entire house with lights or just the living room is totally up to you. Get many different types, both large and small ones, and light up the mood with the thought of the upcoming holidays.

Customize the kitchen

You thought we would skip the kitchen? Think again. This is the place where everyone gathers for a nice family meal, enjoying the good wine and moments spent together. Start by placing a few carved pumpkins around. Change the table cover into something more fall-appropriate, and aim for orange, golden or yellowish colors. If you want to take it to the next level, get some new plates with carvings on them showing forests, leaves and Mother Nature. By making these small changes, you really set up the mood for the upcoming festive season. A little preparation for an early celebration never hurt anyone.

Change the curtains

Drapery and curtains have to be changed in order to complete the setup. From fresh and ravishing summer colors to something more fall inspired. Switch from lighter fabrics to heavy ones to hold more air in the room, as well as keep the room warm. If you match the drapes with your interior colors, you will completely set the mood. All that is left is to finally enjoy it.

Bring the warmth in your home and utilize these tips for maximum efficiency. Enjoy the festive season and prepare for love and celebrations.
